*These tips, guidelines, and charts do not guarantee any garment will fit you perfectly. They are simply a guide to assist you. Always compare your own measurements with ours to ensure an accurate fit. The best way to ensure our garment is going to fit you is by measuring a similar garment you already own and comparing the measurements to the garment you are interested in purchasing from us. * Please note, we are in the process of changing our measurements over to single side measuring rather than doubling the measurement (i.e. bust/chest, waist, hips). Therefore, some of our older items measurements will still be doubled until those eventually sell. We have noted on our more recent items that measurements are taken lying flat, not doubled versus the older items that just list the measurements and, of course, the extreme width of those that are doubled. FIRST: Lay your garment on a flat surface, unstretched, then measure across as noted below: Bust/Chest: Measure from armpit to armpit then double that. High Waist (or natural waist): Measure from side to side where your belly button would be (usually the thinest part of your waist) then double that. Low Waist (just above hip bones): Measure from side to side, just above your hip bones, then double that. Hips/Deriere: Measure from side to side where the largest area of your bottom would be then double that. Inseam (inner leg): Measure the distance along the inseam between the crotch and the leg hem. Rise (zipper area): Measure the distance along the zipper between the center crotch seam and the top of the waistband. Bust/Chest: Measure around your body, across your back, under your arms, and over the fullest part of your bust/chest. High Waist: Measure around your natural waistline across your belly button. Low Waist: Measure around your lower waistline just above your hip bones. Hips: Measure across the fullest part of your bottom around your front across your pubic bone. Upper Body Length:Measure from your armpit to your waistline (or where you want the garment to end). Sleeve Length: Measure from your armpit to your wrist cuff (or where you want the garment's sleeve to end). *We do not measure short sleeves, but we describe them as cap, puffy, 3/4, etc. Regular Skirt Length (See Pencil Skirt Length Below): Measure from your waistline (where you want the skirt to begin) to your hemline (where you want the skirt to end), and compare each measurement (i.e. waist, hips, length) to yours. Pencil Skirt Length: Measure from your high waist (belly button) to where you want the pencil skirt to end on your leg. We measure our pencil skirts with both high and low waist measurements, hips/bottom, and length so be sure to compare all measurements for an accurate fit. Inseam: Measure from your center crotch (between both legs) to your ankle (or where you want your pant leg to end). Rise: Measure from the direct center of your crotch (between both legs) to your belly button (or where you want your pant waist to end). 1. When measuring, remember to keep the tape comfortably loose, or add one inch to your measurement, to allow for movement and comfort or thick seams, etc. You can always have a tailor take a garment in, but you'll have a heck of a time letting it out. 2. If you don't have a measuring tape, you can use a piece of string and a ruler. 3. The high waist measurement guideline listed above is based on your natural waist and is not necessarily the same waist measurement of the garment. Waist measurements vary from garments (i.e. hip hugger styles sit lower on the waist, pencil skirts have both low and high waist measurements, a dress may not have a defined waistline, etc.). Therefore, we have tried to list each garment accordingly. 4. Please have each item cleaned before wearing. We buy most items second hand, even some of our new items with tags, and cannot clean each item before resale. The charts below are not an exact science, just a generalization to assist you (charts researched: about.com, internationalsizeconversions.com, and onlineconversion.com).
